Hello there, let me introduce myself, My name is James. My job role here at SMMart is to look after our SEO customers. I have been in the digital media industry for over a decade and for the last 5 years a search engine executive. It's my job to stay at the forefront of search engine marketing and to devise and implement SEO campaigns for businesses. I have worked on 100's of clients websites and campaigns in dozens of sectors and industries.
Are you considering a search engine optimisation campaign with SMMart Media? Require a little more information before commiting? OK let's begin! SEO is shorthand for Search Engine Optimisation, which is the process of increasing the visibility (rankings) of a website in search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing.
Why do I need SEO?
Good question and a very simple question to answer, when the Internet was gaining traction in the late 1990's and early 2000's. There was probably only a few million websites on the Internet, if you searched for a product or service there was less competition to compete with. Fast forward to 2016 there now is over 1 billion websites on the Internet, The competition is more fierce. Every business with a website would love to be on the first page of a search engine for their products / services. It's not going to happen, there is only 10 positions to be listed on the first page organically.
If you have a website for your company that was setup with the purpose to generate more business, you have to compete with 100's if not 1000's of other competitor companies. An SEO campaign will over time help your website leapfrog your competitors. Within 6 months our goal is to have your website and key phrases, listed on the first page of search engines, specifically Google.co.uk as over 85% Internet searches are carried out on Google.
How much does it cost?
As with all marketing strategies the amount of investment will directly influence the return on Investment. We know that every business is different and marketing budgets vary, that being said most of our clients are paying an average monthly fee between £99 and £300. Have a chat with one of advisors who can build a package proposal with the ROI calulations. My job is to build and impliment a campaign based on those calculations, I alway aim to exceed those expectations and usually do just that.
How long does SEO take?
From the many years of experience I have gained in working in the search engine marketing industry, gaining first page listings for competitive key phrases can take roughly 3 to 6 months to start seeing results that generate a ROI. That's generally accurate, but bear this in mind, this is when you start seeing results, and SEO results grow over time. By SEO results I mean your phone ringing, orders via your website, potential customers visiting your premises and more email enquiries.
It also depends on your marketing budget, a company spending £500 per month is much more likely to results faster than a company only spending £150 per month. Whatever results you're getting at 6 months should be considerably less than what you're getting at 12 months. At some point, you may see your results taper off, and then it may be a matter of maintaining page 1 rankings rather than growing them.
A well devised and implented 6 months campaign may well get your website page to the top of Google for several keywords or phrases. However, if you are short-sighted in your thinking and feel that your efforts have been enough and you stop, then your website may fall into neglect and your SEO campaign will be in vain as you will soon see your hard-earned positioning slip. SEO is a patient man's game. The businesses who continuously do SEO always come out on top.
With that said above, timescales can vary. I would certainly recommend you talk to one of our advisors.. Need help? Call: 0203 861 3282, every industry sector is different, every website is different, some key phrases take longer to climb up to the first page than others.
